Neutrality
InformedVoter exists to help voters find what is on their ballot. We do not tell anyone how to vote. This page is our public, plain-English commitment to neutrality.
No editorial endorsements
We never endorse a candidate, party, or ballot measure. We never accept payment to feature, rank, or recommend a candidate. There are no advertorials.
No candidate quizzes or matching
We do not run "find your candidate" quizzes. Such tools necessarily encode editorial weights and we will not put a thumb on the scale.
No donation links
We do not link to ActBlue, WinRed, or any candidate or PAC fundraising page. Candidate official websites are linked descriptively when one exists; voters can navigate from there.
AI is for synthesis, never opinion
We use large language models to compress public information into bios and platform summaries. We never ask an LLM to evaluate, rank, or recommend a candidate. AI-generated text passes through human review before publication.
Party labels are descriptive, not normative
When we tag a candidate with a party affiliation, that label reflects the candidate's official filing. It is descriptive metadata, not an editorial judgment.
We do not rank candidates
All candidates within a race are listed in a stable, neutral order (typically alphabetical by surname or by ballot order when known). We do not surface "top candidates" or "most viable" labels.
Corrections are welcomed
If you believe any content here breaches neutrality — a loaded word, an unfair characterization, a missing perspective — file a correction at /correction. A human will review every submission.
